Most complaints at BDA Adalat relate to encroachment

A majority of the applications received by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) are on encroachment issues.
This was revealed at the first BDA Adalat held at IDCOl auditorium here on Tuesday. BDA Vice-Chairman Vishal Dev said 220 applications were received on the day, out of which quite a few were disposed of at the Adalat.
“We have intimated the officials concerned to resolve the issues within one month, he said.” Dev said that any major issue would be sorted out within two months. BDA Adalats would be organised in every quarter to help resolve the grievances of the city dwellers, he informed.
“In order to make the city more beautiful and planned, the BDA has decided to divide the city into 14 zones, for which Zonal Development Plans are being prepared,” said Dev, adding that people would be consulted in each locality to make the plans more acceptable.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Debi Prasad Mishra inaugurated the first Adalat.
