The Meteorological Centre here predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over south Odisha while one or two places over North Odisha would experience heavy rains during the next 24 hours.
Rain or thundershower would occur at most of the places over Odisha during next 24 hours, a bulletin released by the Centre said. Gusty surface wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph may prevail along and off the Odisha Coast.
“Yesterday’s low pressure area over west-central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha Coast persists on Thursday over the same area at 8.30 am on Thursday,” the bulletin stated.
Fishermen have been advised to be cautious while venturing into the sea. Meanwhile, the capital city among many other cities in the State experienced a good spell of rainfall on Thursday.
