The local meteorological centre here on Friday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over north Odisha and heavy rainfall at a few places over south Odisha during next 48 hours. Rain or thundershower would occur at most places of Odisha in next two days, it said.
The centre warned that wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph along and off Odisha coast would occur during next 48 hours due to the influence of a well marked low pressure area over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas of Telengana and Rayalaseema. While Bhubaneswar recorded 120.2 mm rainfall, Cuttack recorded 138.8 mm rainfall on Friday. Sambalpur recorded a mere 0.6 mm rainfall. The well marked low pressure area now lies over Telengana and adjoining Rayalseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh, it said.
Meanwhile, local cautionary signal number three (lC-III) was hoisted at all ports in the State while fishermen were too were advised not to venture into sea.
