A day after Salepur block BJD workers met BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik against the party’s Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda, many other Kendrapada block workers on Thursday met Patnaik and accused the MP of neglecting the area.
The workers led by Kendrapada block BJD Chairman Srikant Panda alleged that he MP is not n touch with them and seldom looks into the problems of the area. They submitted a memorandum to the party supremo demanding action against the MP.
Patnaik said he has received their memorandum and referred it to the party’s district observers, who would inquire into the complaints.
However, the MP’s office said he is among the MPs who spend most of the time in the constituency and allocated MPlAD funds as per the needs of the people. He also interacts with the common people of the constituency frequently. But some vested interests are carrying out a slander campaign against him.
Meanwhile, the proposed inauguration of an auditorium in Derabish by MP Panda has been opposed by local BJD workers on the ground that the MP has not held any discussion with them about it; and they are going to hold protests during the inauguration ceremony.
