The temperature dropped considerably in all places in the State on Sundayfollowing monsoon rains in several areas.
The maximum temperature was recorded below 40 degree Celsius in all the districts.
As monsoon covered the entire State on Saturday, its rains lowered the temperature providing relief to the people. The temperature in most parts of the State is likely to remain below 40 degree Celsius for the time being.
On Sunday, while Baleswar received 35.6 mm rainfall, Gopalpur and Jharsuguda got 16.6 mm rainfall and Sambalpur 22.3 mm.
The sky remained cloudy in Bhubaneswar, which also experienced rain. The temperature in the city registered at 32.7 degree Celsius.
