Expressing concern over the death of a woman in monkey attack at Jahangirpatna under the Balipatana police station on May 10, the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has directed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Wildlife and Bhubaneswar DFO to submit a report in this regard by November 31.
According to complainant Human Rights Watch secretary Sangita Swain, victim Binapani Sahu of Jahangirpatna in Balipatana police station died as a portion of wall caved in on her by the weird behaviuor of a group of monkeys. The petitioner further alleged that a 4-year-old child was also died in the similar type of incidence recently due to inaction of the concerned Forest officials.
