The monitoring of Cabinet Committee Infrastructural (CCI) projects by the Central Project Monitoring Group (PMG) has boosted up processes for forest and environment clearances and land acquisition for various projects in the State.
A high-level PMG meeting held under chairmanship of Chief Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra at the State Secretariat on Thursday revealed this. Special Secretary Project Monitoring Pradeep Kumar Jena presented the project-wise updates at the meeting. It was suggested at the meeting that a project monitoring group be set up at the State-level for monitoring of the small investment projects along with CCI projects.
Mohapatra urged upon all the proposed project authorities having tree cutting clearances to retain as much trees as they could which would ultimately help them in enhancing green coverage. The meeting reviewed around 49 projects in coal, railway, power, National Highway and steel sectors in two sessions.
