The Brahmapur police have arrested a youth allegedly involved in molesting a 22-year-old woman on July 12 under the BNpur police station area in the city.
The arrested accused was identified as Firoj Polkia (28), a resident of Batapolice village under Gunupur police station in Rayagada district, said, Brahmapur SP Sarvana Vivek M.
On the fateful day, the victim, who was working in a private clinic, was on her way to her workplace by foot, when the Firoj came by a bike and stopped her on the pretext of asking for an address. But he molested the woman and sped away from the spot.
Later, the victim lodged a complaint with the BNpur police., who had initiated an investigation.
The cops have seized a TVs Apache motorbike from the possession of the accused and also ascertained that the youth was stalking the victim for quite some time.
