The Maha Bodhi Society of India has conferred the Maha Bodhi International Award for Buddhist Literature on former Utkal University of Culture Vice-Chancellor Prof Bimalendu Mohanty for his outstanding contribution to the promotion and propagation of Buddhist studies through his translations and writings on Buddhism and Buddhist literature.
He received the award at the second Global Conference on Buddhism and Women’s Liberation held in Bihar recently. Among others, Maha Bodhi Society president Dasho Passang Dorji and general secretary Ven P Seewalee Thero were present.
