While the campaigning for the April 10 polls in the State ended on Tuesday, BJD candidate for Gajapati district’s Mohana Assembly (ST) seat Basanti Mallick seems to be in a better position.
Mallick, who is the sitting chairperson of Mohana block, has been in touch with the people directly for long. Besides, the two public meetings, one at Ramagiri and another at Khajuripada, addressed by her party boss and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik have reflected Mallick remains ahead of other candidates in campaigning.Mallick along with party’s Brahmapur lok Sabha candidate popular cine star Sidhant Mohapatra conducted a number of roadshows and public meetings. The huge gatherings in these meetings indicate that Mallick is in a better position in comparison to her rivals. Mallick’s big advantage is she is the only woman candidate seeking election for the seat.
