Modi Sena, a group of supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, organised a marathon in the city on Monday a few hours before the swearing-in ceremony of Modi, supporting his cause to unite India.
Despite an inclement weather, several supporters of Modi joined the programme. The Sena with the help of senior workers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS), Bharat Swabhiman (Odisha) and Art of living prayed for Modi at the Ram temple here offering 108 earthen lamps.
Former Utkal University of Culture VC Bimalendu Mohanty flagged off the marathon. He said the people of the country will see a new era of development under the leadership of Modi.
Sena’s State president Murali Manohar Sharma, organiser of the marathon, said India is going to be a powerful nation with the help of the people. “People support Modi as he has a golden plan for the development of the country,” said Sharma.
Among others, RSS senior worker Rabi Shankar Patnaik, senior BJP leader Swadhin Satpathy, BJP media coordinator Anir Dhir and Modi Sena secretary Deba Prasad Mishra participated in the marathon.
