Modi Govt only makes big promises: Cong

Congress leader and former Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday attacked the Narendra Modi-led-NDA Government for “fooling people with big promises, but delivering nothing on ground”. Addressing a Press conference at the Congress Bhawan here, he criticised the Central Government for “doing nothing except making promises and announcements” over the past one year.

On health, business, agriculture and other fronts too, Singh criticised the Modi Government and said its lots of promises and false and misleading. He slammed the NDA Government for its “anti-farmer” land Bill, rise in fuel prices and its crony capitalism agenda through the much-touted ‘Make in India’ programme. “In terms of promises or oratory, Modi and his Government are only dishing out speeches from the Red Fort to China,” he said.

Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan accused the BJD Government in Odisha of incapability to govern as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik only depends on a handful of bureaucrats to run the administration. “As BJD Government completes the first year of its fourth term, it is quite clear that the Government has been severely indicted by the Supreme Court as well as by the CAG on various issues,” said Harichandan.”It is an irony that the Chief Minister is unable to speak, write or read a single word in Odia on his own during his 15 long years of rule. He has to read out written slips at every forum, even during meetings with Union Ministers,” the PCC chief said. He also said the Naveen Patnaik Government has betrayed the youths of the State by launching an employment mission which is fruitless.
