Taking a dig at the BJP over its national leaders and Union Ministers making a beeline to the State, the BJD on Monday said the Modi Festival being organised across the country to mark the third anniversary of the BJP Government at the Centre is just an eyewash.
At a Press meet here, BJD spokesperson Sameer Dash said the Centre is spending money of PSUs in the name of Modi Fest. He also lashed out at the Centre for not paying any heed to Odisha’s demand regarding the Mahanadi water issue. Another BJD spokesperson, Prashant Nanda said, the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government should give clarification on its works and achievements in the last three years.
“The Centre should give in detail on what it has achieved in the last three years. Eight schemes have been delinked from Central support whereas the Budget of 33 schemes in the State has been cut down. This is a joke on poverty,” he stated.
Nanda sought an answer from Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who is on a visit to the State to attend the Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sammelan, on his steps for development of slum dwellers and the amount of fund granted for drinking water in urban areas.
