The passengers of a Mo Bus had a close shave when the vehicle got submerged up to it window level in stagnant rainwater at the railway underpass at Sitaram Chhak in Jatni on Saturday.
However, locals managed to rescue all passengers from the bus safely.
About eight feet to 10 feet rainwater flowed on the road after an intense spell of rainfall in the afternoon. The driver of the bus had misjudged the water level and thought that he would cross it easily. But midway, the bus got stranded as the ignition got switched off.
“Delay in construction of a flyover at Jatni has been causing water stagnation frequently here. The authorities should seriously take what happened today. It would have been disastrous if we had not promptly rushed to rescue the passengers,” said a local.
