The Kujanga Press Club in association with Priya Bandhu Trust organised a symposium on the ongoing Mahanadi water row at Kujang town on Saturday.

Former Finance Minister Panchanon Kanungo attending the one- day seminar emphasised on establishment of a water commission to resolve the dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh. He said that the Chhattisgarh barrages would undoubtedly block water in the Mahanadi river to Odisha triggering a water crisis for farming and industrial purposes.

Among others, former MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, RTI activist Pradip Pradhan, social activist Sudarsan Chhotray, fisherman leader Hadibandhu Sahoo and farmer leader Arakhita Das participated. Kujang Press Club president Raghunath Sahoo chaired the symposium and secretary Dushmanta Majhi proposed vote of thanks.
