The North Orissa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCi) on Friday organised an interactive session here wherein all the MlAs and MP of Baleswar district discussed issues relating to development of the district.
MP Rabindra Jena, MlAs Jiban Pradip Dash (Sadar), Sukanta Nayak (Nilgiri), Nityananda Sahu(Basta), Aswani Patra (Jaleswar), former Minister Prafulla Samal and former ZP president Girish Dash participated. Besides, many senior citizens and people from different walks of life and industry and commerce representatives too participated.
The meeting focused on making of a 5-year-plan and a 50-year vision document for the district.NOCCi convenor Amit Behera pleaded for widening of roads in the town and its periphery, better illumination, disciplined traffic, vending zones, rehabilitation of the street vendors, double laning of the roads connecting Baleswar bus stand to Remuna golai and Station Square to Vivekananda Marg. Besides, he also proposed improvement of roads connecting Kuruda to Salabani and Bampada to Somanathpur citing increase in traffic and industrialisation.
Further, NOCCi members wanted that the proposed Government Medical College and Hospital, AIIMS Satellite Centre and Software Technology Park be established soon.
