Cuttack-Barabati BJD MlA Debashis Samantray’s sister-in-law (younger brother’s wife) Sikha Samantray on Tuesday said she would meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the issue of her being allegedly tortured by the MlA in the family.
Sikha, who moved the State Commission for Women on Monday for justice, has alleged that Debashis Samantray has been harassing her in the matters, including providing medical treatment of her husband.
Opposition parties Congress and BJP on Tuesday condemned the MlA over Sikha’s contentions and assured her of their support.
Congress State spokesperson Sulochana Das said the MlA’s behaviour has unmasked the BJD’s real face and the Congress would fight for justice to Sikha.
BJP State Mahila Morcha president Pravati Parida said her party is ready to help Sikha in any manner she wants.
