MLA Routray decries apathy to N’kanan

Jatni Congress MLA Suresh Kumar Routray addressing a Press Conference on Sunday alleged that State Government is neglecting the world-famous Nandankanan Zoological Park as animals and birds are often dying due to lack of proper care and treatment.

He said the zoo should have more species of birds and animals and it is the responsibility of the Government to bring them. For that more sheds, extension of electricity, drinking water and other required facilities are needed. Routray, who is also chief advisor of the Anchalika Vikash Committee, demanded that the historic Chudangagada be part of the Nandankanan Zoological Park and beautification of the park should be fast-paced besides restarting  boating, ropeway and toy train facilities.

Routray demanded that Government elevate the Chandaka Elephant Sanctuary wall to prevent elephants from entering nearby villages. He aldemanded that  Daruthenga dumping yard be shifted elsewhere immediately.
