A member of the State Legislative Assembly from Baleswar district has tested positive for Covid-19, informed CDMO Dulalsen Jagatdeo on Monday.
“The swab sample of the legislator had been sent for test two days back and the result came out positive,” the CDMO told reporters, adding that the MLA would be admitted to a Covid Hospital shortly.
The contact tracing and active surveillance drive in this case would begin from Tuesday, Dr Jagatdeo said.
Notably, 14 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were reported in Baleswar district in last 24 hours, taking the district’s total number of cases to 412 with 86 active cases so far. Till date, two Covid-19 patients have died due to other health complications in the district and the number of recovered cases now stands at 324.
