BJD MLA Amar Prasad Satpathy was on Wednesday sent to home quarantine for 14 days after some of his staff tested positive for Covid-19.

“I and my family have been advised to put ourselves under isolation as we have come in contact with the staffs at my residence. Based on suggestion from the authorities, I and my family members underwent antibody tests and, fortunately, we all tested negative,” Satpathy said in a video message.

Sources said Satpathy’s a PSO, driver and two domestic helps have been infected with coronavirus.

“I will be in touch with people over telephone and try to sort out their issues even though I will be unavailable personally with them,” Satpathy said.

He made it clear that he would not be able to tour his Jajpur district to attend a programme as directed by the Chief Minister.
