In an exemplary act inspiring others to take up agriculture, Umarkote MLA Nityanand Gond along with his wife Chaiti, a teacher by profession, and local farmers has been reaping paddy at his farmland in Nabarangpur district.
Born in a farmer family, Gond often devotes a significant amount of time to farming despite his busy schedule as an MLA.“I always consider myself as a farmer in terms of my primary identity. Whenever I find spare time, I engage myself in agriculture. Earlier, I was able to give more time to farming.
However, after being elected as an MLA, my responsibilities have increased; and currently I can’t devote that much of time to farming,” Gond said.He advised youths to take up agriculture and contribute to nation’s progress.
