Trouble gripped the ruling BJD and its Cuttack-Barabati MlA Debasis Samantray again as a fresh photograph showing Samantray sharing dais with dreaded criminal Sushil Dhalsamant reportedly at a party meeting come to the fore on Wednesday.
Sushil had attended the preparatory meeting of the BJD called by Samantray in Cuttack on the eve of the party padayatra in October last year.
Many other BJD leaders were also present on the dais.
Armed with the fresh snap, the BJP intensified its demand of arrest of Samantray for having relation with a criminal like Sushil.
Meanwhile, Excise Minister Damodar Rout on Wednesday came down heavily on Samantray, Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Dash and Jagatsinghpur district unit president Bishnu Das for camping in Paradip for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s IOCl programme on February 11.
“Samantray does not belong to my constituency. Why he had come to ParadipIJ I am the MlA of Paradip. He along with Pranab Prakash Das has distributed BJD caps and shirts to my rebels to attend the refinery dedication ceremony. Who had asked them to camp in Paradip and involve my rebels having criminal antecedents in party activities,” charged Rout.
He informed that he will draw the attention of party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik about the incident.
