MlA Biswal's wife sends her representative to CBI

On the last day of the two-day deadline served to her by the CBI asking her to appear before it in connection with the Seashore chit fund scam, Choudwar-Cuttack MlA Pravat Ranjan Biswal’s wife laxmi Bilasini Biswal on Monday, instead, sent her representative to appear before the Central probe agency.

The representative of laxmi Bilasini reached the CBI office here and reportedly handed over some documents to the CBI as sought by it, sources said.

Notably, laxmi Bilasini was grilled by the agency along with his MlA husband in 2014 over their alleged links in the scam. At that time, the duo had failed to produce any documents and sale deeds about their land deal with the Seashore.

Sources said both the MlA and his wife came on the CBI radar after it was found that laxmi Bilasini allegedly embezzled Rs 29 lakh from the Seashore Group by promising to sell their land in Jajpur district in 2011.

Now, all eyes are on the CBI about its next move.
