The new building of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of the MKCG Medical College Hospital here would be put into use soon for which shifting process is underway now.
On Tuesday, the OT facilities were shifted to the new premises.
The OT services have been closed for seven days for the purpose. Only emergency OT services are being provided to patients now at the old Indoor Department.
After shifting of OT table, machines and required employees, patients would be provided treatment in the new building, sources said. After shifting of OT, labour room and beds and other indoor equipments would be shifted. The department has now 150 beds. However, shortage of nurses, attendants and cleaning staffs is now a big problem in the department. After the six-storied building put into use, patients would get hygienic atmosphere and better treatment.
