MKCG CT scan defunct again

Published on:

Patients in the MKCG Medical College Hospital have suffered a lot as the lone CT scan machine has remained inoperative for the last 15 days.

Patients are now going to private diagnostic centres and spending lot for doing CT scan and obtaining reports. As the newly-installed CT scan machine developed snags many times, the hospital authorities had installed an old machine four months back instead of making a permanent solution to the problem.

This machine also went out of operation after a few days of operation.

Besides, the premier Government hospital is also lacking digital and X-ray machines. Only about 40 patients are being provided free ultrasound services per day.

With all these lacunae, the ‘NIDAN’ scheme, under which patients get free CT scan, X-ray and ultrasound services and medicines free of cost, has failed completely, alleged intellectuals of the locality.
