Missing youth's mother lodges FIR against Sarathi Ashram

A woman on Tuesday lodged an FIR at the Malkangiri police station accusing that her son who had visited Sarathi Baba’s Barimula Ashram in Kendrapada district three years back is missing.The woman identified as D Suvhaya of Malkangiri district alleged that her son K Balaraju had gone to the ashram on April 16, 2012. 

Though Balaraju had told his mother that he would return from the ashram within five days, he could not return, said Suvhaya.

The ashram authorities had admitted that Balaraju was in the ashram for a few days, but could not furnish any details about when he left the ashram.Suvhaya said her son had telephoned once and informed that he was in a hospital but was not able to tell where it was and how he reached there.She had tried to file a case in this regard that time, but the ashram authorities advised her not to do so claiming that it would tarnish the image of the Baba.Mysterious disappearance of Balaraju has raised many eyebrows over the role of ashram authorities which prevented Suvhaya from lodging a complaint.
