The lahunipada police of Sundargarh district recovered a dead body of a youth from West Bengal on Tuesday, two days after his missing, in a forest near the Khandadhar waterfall. The youth had gone with his colleagues for picnic on Sunday.
Sources said the youth identified as Rintu Pal (21), worked in a construction company currently engaged in the construction of the ESIC hospital at Jharsuguda. Rintu and his colleagues had gone to Khandadhar waterfall under the lahunipada police station by two Bolero vehicles for picnic.
While they were having lunch, Rintu received a call on his mobile phone and he started moving towards the dense forest though his colleagues dissuaded him. After waiting for Rintu, his colleagues again called him on his mobile phone after some time and he said that he is coming back. When he did not come back, they again called him and they heard Rintu shouting for water.
After hearing this, his shocked colleagues searched for him inside the forest but could not locate him. In the evening, they lodged a complaint in the lahunipada PS. The police after registering a missing case, went to the picnic spot and looked for Rintu in the forest but even they could not trace him.
On Monday morning police along with Rintu’s colleagues and local villagers searched for him inside the dense forest and near Khandadhar waterfall but could not trace him. The police are investigating but mystery still shrouds the case.
