A 28-year-old poor dalit mentally-challenged youth, who had gone missing on September 28 last year from the SCB Medical College Hospital here under mysterious circumstances, has resurfaced but with his private parts missing.
Sridhar Mallick (Chhota) from Andhoti village under Harianta gram panchayat under the Cuttack Sadar Police Station was rescued last week when some fellow villagers spotted him at Ranihat Square in Cuutack. When he reached home, his mother was shocked discovering amputation of his private parts and surgical stitching marks on his left side thigh area.
On September 28 last, Chhota had been taken to the SCB Medical College Hospital for his serious health complicacies and infection in his private part by an ambulance by a fellow villager as his widow mother Moti Mallick was incapable of coming to the hospital. But he went missing from the OPD of the hospital.
Though Moti approached at the SCB police outpost for several times, police didn’t book a missing complaint either.
Moti, who belongs to a Schedule Caste community, is a landless poor and manages her livelihood working as a seasonal farm labourer.
After hearing the incident, PMO’s MyGov programme volunteer Chakradhar Behera has written a letter to the Cuttack district Collector demanding provision of proper, free and safe medical treatment for Sridhar.
