A mentally challenged married woman of Maharashtra, who had gone missing six months ago in her home State, had accidentally reached Sundargarh. After recuperating in a rehab home, she got reunited with her husband on Saturday and went back to her in-laws house.
Sindhu (38), a resident of Gondia district in Maharashtra, had married Gyaneswar Santilal Bansor in the year 2005. But after many years of their marriage, the couple had not got any child due to which the couple were remaining in depression and particularly Sindhu had become mentally sick since she had not become mother of a child. When Sindhu went into severe depression and started behaving differently, her husband Gyaneswar had taken her to a doctor for consultation. She was receiving treatment. In April 2016, Sindhu one day had come out of her house and had gone missing. Her husband and his family members had started searching her but in vain.
Sindhu , however, had landed on May 14 at Rourkela railway station. Bondamunda police had taken her into custody and later left her at Disha, a shelter house and thereafter, she was left at Ashta, Sundargarh, a shelter house for women where mentally challenged women are being taken care of. Astha secretary, Snehalata Patel and her associates had taken care of Sindhu and she had slowly recuperated. On October 15, Sindhu wanted to go to her house and told her home address and her husband’s mobile number. On being contacted, Sindhu’s husband Gyaneswar picked up the call and he could not believe that his wife was alive. On Friday Gynaeswar along with his two friends reached at Sundargarh to take back Sindhu.
The authorities of Astha and District Welfare Officer K Biswanath prepared the necessary papers and handed over Sindhu to her husband on Saturday. It was an emotional parting when Sindhu was bidden adieu.
“I am very happy that with our effort she is now completely well and she has reunited with her husband after seven months,” said the Astha secretary.
