Here is a good news for girls in the State who have a dream to make an entry into the modelling and entertainment industry. Now, such aspiring girls will not have to go outside of the State to give auditions for the Miss India contest.
For the first time, the Staar Makers and the Prelude will organise the State version of the Femina Miss India contest, Miss Odisha-India here in January next.Significantly, the Miss India Organisation, a division of Bennet, Coleman and Co ltd, Mumbai has signed a three-year term Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Staar Makers to conduct the Miss Odisha-India beauty pageant, informed Staar Makers director Naveen Kandoi at a Press meet here on Friday, adding that the show would judge and proceed as per the guidelines and format provided by the Miss India Organisation.
Audition for the contest will be held in Cuttack, Puri and Rourkela in phased manner from January 10 to 19. And, the final audition will be held in Bhubaneswar on January 20, where 15-20 aspirants will be shortlisted for the Grand Finale, to be held in the capital city on January 24. The Grand Finale will be judged by a former Femina Miss India and will also have celebrity judges from the Ollywood entertainment industry.
The winner, who would be crowned as the Miss Odisha-India, would have a direct entry to the Femina Miss India-East to be held in Kolkata, where as the Runners-up candidates would get an entry to the Final round for the Femina Miss India-East, added Kandoi. Besides, the show will also have some sub-titles like Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Best Smile, Best Costume Odisha, Miss Talented, Miss Rampwalk, Best Body, Miss Cine Star, Miss Cine Star, Miss Vivacious and Miss Best Tooth. Among others, Prelude director Satyabrata Ratho, director of Khimji Miresh Khimji, Ollywood actress Archita Sahoo and Miss India Organisation Talent scout Benner were present.
