Bajrang Dal Jharsuguda district coordinator Bijay Jalan was attacked by four motorcycle-borne miscreants on Saturday at around 7 am in front of the Kanakdurga temple near Station Square here while he was performing puja.
Jalan was stabbed on his belly and left hand. He was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital and then referred to the VSS Medical College Hospital at Burla.
In this connection, the Jharsuguda Town police have registered a case and detained an accused out of the four. Police station IIC Khirsagar Naik told mediapersons that investigation into the case was continuing and all the accused would be arrested soon. Jalan had some altercations with the accused on Friday evening, sources said.
