Around 15 unidentified miscreants looted an Umerkote-bound passenger bus at Mudigada area in Tumudibandha police station limits in Kandhamal district late on Tuesday night. The police are investigating . Nobody was arrested till Wednesday evening, sources said.
Miscreants stopped a Sri Raghunath bus, plying between Cuttack and Umerkote, near Rampur jungle at Mudigada and after threatening the bus driver and conductor, the miscreants asked the passengers to get down from the bus. The passengers were told to deposit whatever money, jewellery and mobile phones they had. According to the passengers, the dacoits with black masks intercepted the bus and terrorized the passengers by showing weapons.
After looting all the articles, the dacoits disappeared from the spot. No police case has been registered from the bus owner's side, while the police are investigating into the matter to arrest the dacoits, said Umerkote SDPO BK Nayak.
