Unidentified miscreants hurled a bomb at a local trader’s storehouse at Patrapada on the National Highway on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday night.
Hrudaya Ballav Patsani, owner of Rajani Associates which sells construction materials like bricks, cements and rods lodged a complaint with the local police on Thursday alleging that the hooligans of his rival group entered into his store premises and threw the bomb on the store roof where his employee Dulal Routaray was sleeping. Though Dulal escaped the attack, the asbestos roof of the room was damaged.
Patsani, a BJD worker, further alleged that it might be the handiwork of his rivals in the Congress party with whom he had an argument recently.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police acting on the complaint filed by Patsani has started investigation into the incident. Earlier, the police had tried to compromise between the rivals.
The local Tamando police recovered remains of the exploded bomb. like other bomb-related cases, this time also the Commissionerate Police said it was not a bomb but a powerful cracker.
