In connection with sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl of Purushottampur village in Antantpur panchayat which took place on Friday night under the Soro police limits, the police after arresting the 28 year old accused forwarded him to court on Sunday by booking him under Section 376(2)(i) of IPC and POCSO Act.
The accused has been identified as Mahindra Mallick of the same village, said Soro IIC Dillip Sahu.
As per a complaint filed by the victim’s mother at Soro Police Station, the incident took place on May 11, when they were busy in a marriage function. On the day of the incident, Mahindra alias Muna managed to take her daughter to a lonely lift irrigation point located in the village on the pretext of giving some food items. later, he raped the minor brutally inside the lift irrigation point.
“The victim had external injury,” confirmed police.
In another incident of molesting women of a marriage party by another marriage party members , which too occurred on Friday night near
Anantapur, the Soro police after arresting two persons forwarded them to court. The accused persons were identified as Jagannath Kabata (25) of Suana village and Dipti Nayak (23) of Sujitnagar village, both under Basudevpur police station limits.
“The FIR was lodged by Upendra Rout alleging the accused persons molested women members of his marriage party when they were sitting in bus in drunken State. Six others are absconding,” said IIC Sahu.
