Minority community seeks admn help in K'put

A minority community delegation on Thursday met the Jeypore Sub-Collector over the inflammable slogans raised allegedly by Bajrang Dal activists during a rally at Borigumma in the district on June 11.

The delegation demanded that the Sub-Collector take appropriate steps in connection with the incident to maintain communal harmony.

The delegation in a memorandum sought intervention of the police and district administration to ensure that the peace and tranquility in the regions is maintained.

Notably, an organisational training camp of the Bajrang Dal was organised at Borigumma from June 5 to June 12 and a rally was organised on the concluding day during which Bajrang

Dal had made some objectionable remarks against some people of the minority community in the area.

Senior leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) refuted the allegations and apologised if somebody had made any objectionable remarks during the rally.
