With a vision to helping the minority community in accessing benefits of the Central and State Government minority programmes more effectively, the Odisha Minority Forum (OMF) has launched a dedicated Electronic-Helpdesk. Requests can be sent to the E-Helpdesk at minorityhelpdesk@gmail.com which would monitor the requests and provide relevant information as well as documentation in form of requisite application forms, eligibility, procedures and guidelines for accessing the benefits from the concerned minority programmes at no cost.
The E-Helpdesk, which would be monitored by a dedicated team of volunteers through the year, would provide support for minority scholarships, 15-point Prime Minister’s minority programme, minority entrepreneurship subsidy, subsidised minority loans for livelihood development and Minority Concentration District (MCD) development benefits.
Extending the E-Helpdesk, the forum is about to launch a dedicated website and blog which would provide minority development programme information and timely support for accessing the benefits effectively and a time-bound manner along with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and procedural roadmaps.
OMF president Dr Sasmit Patra elaborated, “A major problem for the minority community is the lack of awareness and information about the minority programmes of the Government and how to access its benefits. We hope with greater awareness about this E-Helpdesk facility, the minority community would have quicker access to relevant information and documentation with regard to Government minority programmes. This E-Helpdesk would help bridge that gap and hand-hold them for efficient availing of benefits.”
