A minor boy sustained grievous injuries after he was allegedly pushed out of a moving train by a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) near the Mancheswar railway station on Saturday morning.

The victim identified as P Krishna (15) was from Andhra Pradesh. He was found lying on the railway tracks near Padashi in Mancheswar with deep injuries all over his body. He was rushed to the Capital Hospital. locals first spotted the injured Krishna and informed police.

“I was coming from Vizag to Cuttack on Chennai-Howrah Coromandel Express to meet my relatives. A TTE asked me to produce ticket. As I was travelling without ticket, the TTE asked me to pay fine. When I said I had no money, he pushed me out of the train,” Krishna said.

Meanwhile, the Government Railway Police (GRP) has started investigation into the incident by interrogating three TTEs who were on duty in the train.

Suspecting that the minor might have jumped off the train after seeing TTEs, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) meanwhile ordered a probe by commercial and Railway Protection Force (RPF).

An ECoR statement also stated that a departmental inquiry was also ordered by the Khordha Road DRM.

It said any railway personnel found guilty would be dealt with “severely and sternly”.
