A minor girl of a minority community of Sundargarh was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law after tying her hands and legs. Sundargarh police have registered a case against the accused on Wednesday who is now absconding.
On Sunday midnight at around 1 am, the victim girl’s brother-in-law( sister’s husband) Taj Hussain(35), who resides in nearby area with his family, entered her house and forcibly took his sister-in-law (16) to another room. When she resisted, he gagged her with a cloth and tied her hands and legs before raping her.
After the shameful incident, the father of victim girl reached there and rebuked Hussain. Thereafter hearing the noise, family members of Hussain along with some other people reached there and allegedly beat the victim girl, her father and her mother and threatened of dire consequences if they lodged complaint before police. On Monday, the incident was discussed at gram sabha, but no solution came out. Finding no other alternative, the victim girl lodged FIR against Hussain on Tuesday evening.
“We have registered a case against Taj Hussain and we are now searching to arrest him,” said Tasara police station SI lK Pradhan.
