A minor girl was allegedly raped in Nabarangpur block’s Sanmasigan panchayat on Thursday. A complaint has been lodged in this connection.
As per reports, the Class-VIII student from Chirmapandi village under Sanmasigan panchayat had visited her maternal uncle’s place in Siuni village. Babula, a youth from her village, approached her at her uncle’s place saying her mother’s health was critical and she ahould return to her village with him.
Accordingly, the girl was returning with the boy. When they were crossing a forest, Babula allegedly tied her hands and face and raped her. However, the girl managed to go back to her uncle’s house and narrated her ordeal to the family members.
On Friday, her mother, accompanied by the chairperson of ‘Maa Ghara’ lodged an FIR in the matter at the Nabarangpur police station. The accused has fled from the area.
