In a deeply shocking case, a minor girl has alleged that she was gangraped by her four cousins as her father supported the Congress party during the recent panchayat elections in Patrapur block in Ganjam district.
The victim along with her father and brother met district Superintendent of Police Asis Singh on Tuesday and lodged a complaint. SP Singh ordered the Chikiti Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) to investigate into the incident.
In the complaint, the victim alleged that the four of her cousins forcibly took her from her home on March 9 and raped her days at a nearby jungle and released her on March 18 after warning her not to reveal the incident to
anybody or else face dire consequences.
“They kept raping me in the forest and threatened me to kill my parents and me if I informed it to anyone. After being released from
their clutches, I narrated the incident to my family,” the victim said.
Meanwhile, the SDPO has begun investigations and said the formalities like medical examination of the victim would be done and the accused would be questioned to ascertain the real facts about the incident.
