Minor boy violates traffic rule; father fined

A minor boy violated traffic rule at Madhupatna Chhak here on Sunday, for which his father was fined for the offence.

The boy was driving a two-wheeler without wearing helmet. Besides, he was talking on mobile phone while doing so. A fine of Rs 6,000 was imposed on his father.

Notably, the Commissionerate police had earlier clarified that if minors are found driving vehicles, their parents would be penalised.

Though the State Government has relaxed the imposition of the new MV Act for three months, certain traffic rule violations will still attract penalty during this period.

The offences are driving at a speed exceeding the specified limit, red light jumping, drunken driving, driving against flow of traffic, using mobile phone while driving, dangerous driving, triple riding on two-wheeler, not wearing helmet, not wearing seatbelt and overloading.
