Even though a child marriage has allegedly taken place near Kapileswarpur village under Brahmagiri block of Puri district, neither the police nor the Childline officials have any inkling of the incident.
Meanwhile the minor boy and girl who are in 14-15 years age have fled home. While the boy was identified as son of Praful Parida, the girl is daughter of Kalia Tripathy of Kapileshwarpur. Tripathy died two months ago and his widow is living in a miserable condition without any help from anybody. Meanwhile, the Child Line and Sadar Thana police are silent on incident despite having earlier information from the people.
While the police said they had got no written complaint yet from the parents, the Child Line officials denied having any information on the incident.
But the locals informed that the duo had married in Muktiswar temple in Balinuagaon village, 5
km far from Kapileswarpur last week. It is also said that some relatives of the boy were present in the temple and there was nobody from the girl’s side. They were lovebirds, sources confirmed.
