Charan Mallick of Digodia under the Kamakhyanagar police station allegedly brutally attacked general secretary of Odisha Bhumihina Praja Samiti and farmer leader Ranjan lenka.
Charan using filthy language shouted that nobody can go against the autocratic ruling of local BJD MlA and Minister Prafulla Mallick and BJD District Youth president Jashobanta Parida, alleged a release of the Samiti.
Charan threatened to kill lenka along with their leader Er Debashisha Hota and others. Charan shouted that Minister Mallick and leader Jashu Parida assured him of no police action against the attackers. lenka was rushed to hospital.
Hota informed SP Basanta Kumar Panigrahi and SDPO Saikh Abdul Karim and the SDPO went to the hospital to meet lenka.
On August 29, over 500 workers of the Samiti led by Hota had gheraoed the Kamakhyanagar Police Station against for not taking action against Mallick who is a close aide of Mines Minister Paffula Mallick.
