Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday launched two schemes of his Ministry, sale of five-kg lPG cylinders and subsidised lPG connection for BPl families, at a function held at Salia Sahi here. Pradhan launched the sale of five-kg cylinders under the free trade lPG (FTl) scheme to meet the lPG requirements for all sections of society including economically weaker families, students and migrant labourers who do not have proof of address due to acquiring residence on temporary basis. Such customers can buy five-kg cylinder at market price.
IndianOil officials said the FTl scheme would be available at nine retail outlets in Bhubaneswar and four retail outlets in Cuttack. Subsequently, sale of cylinder under the FTl scheme is proposed at various locations of Udyan Fresh outlets in Bhubaneswar, they added. The officials said there is also a waiver of Rs500 for getting a five-kg connection for BPl families which includes a Rs350-security deposit and Rs150 as cost of regulator. A consumer can avail 34 five-kg subsidised cylinders in a year at a cost of Rs161 under the scheme.
Pradhan also launched the other scheme to provide new lPG connections to the below-poverty line (BPl) families at a concessional rate for three months. “BPl category people can get a new lPG connection with a rebate of Rs1600 for 14.2-kg cylinders,” he said.
The rebate includes Rs1,450 as security deposit for cylinder and Rs150 as cost of pressure regulator.
