The 44th Convention of the Odisha Society of Americas (OSA) is going to be held at Westin Hotel lombard, a suburb of Chicago, the USA, from July 4 to 6.
The theme of the convention is “Bidesha Matira Odia Santana Uchha Rakha Tume Odisha Ra Maana”. luminaries like Jnanpith Award winner Pratibha Ray and artist Dinanath Pathy will grace the inaugural session as the chief speaker and chief guest, respectively.
Social activist and tribal leader Tulasi Munda will be honoured as an outstanding Odia for her lifetime contributions for socially downtrodden people. Sam Pitroda is going to inaugurate an Odisha Development Symposium on July 4. A delegation of eminent realtors, hoteliers and businessmen of Odisha is going to participate in this seminar to present opportunities in Odisha in their respective areas.
leading hospitality group, Mayfair Group of Hotels, will be represented by its executive director Suabhgya Mohapatra and adviser RC Mishra. In addition to this, seminars on higher education and Buddhism have been scheduled on July 4. On July 5 and 6, there will be seminars covering a wide range of themes like health, career and women issues, spiritual, religious, business and entrepreneurial skills.
The younger generation is spearheading this endeavour. A Souvenir will be released in commemoration of this gala event. Sniti Mishra of the Sare Re Ga Ma Pa fame and Krishna Beura, noteworthy Odia Bollywood singer, will entertain the crowd with their melodious voices.
Actor and political satirist Kuna Tripathy is on schedule to make the environment most entertaining. Odias of the USA and Canada are also going to present eye-catching entertainment programmes glorifying Odisha.
Second and third generation young adults and children are scheduled to emcee all cultural events in Odia. Odias of greater Chicago land have been preparing for this gala event since many months. As many as 1,500 Odias will be gathering for these three days to create a mini Odisha outside Odisha.
OSA office-bearers Annapurna Pandey, Kuku Das, leena Mishra, Sushant Satpathy, convener Gyana Patnaik, co-conveners Saurjya Khandai and Tarni Mohapatra and all other convention teams are working tirelessly for success of the event.
