Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik distributed various kits and financial assistance to the construction workers in Athagarh and Tigiria block. A function held the occasion here was attended by local MlA Ranendra Pratap Swain and several other people’s representatives.
While delivering his speech, the Minister assured the labourers that they would get adequate safety kits and protection under the law. As many as 889 beneficiaries of Athagarh block and 2,853 of Tigiria block got various assistance like education for their children, cash to buy work tools, bicycles, safety equipment like helmet, gloves and shoes, besides marriage assistance.
The worth of assistance given to Athagarh labourers was Rs 34, 51,000, while Tigiria block labourers got aid worth Rs 90, 29,000, said sources.
