Minister of Rural Development Bikram Keshari Arukh unfurled the National Flag at the GCD High School ground. Though he remembered some veteran freedom fighters who worked for Koraput region like Sadasib
Tripathy and Biswanath Pattanaik, he forgot to mention the name of the tribal leader Sahid laxman Naik, who was hanged in the Brahmapur jail at an age of 44 years.
He also forgot about living legend, freedom fighter MD Baji.
Thirty schools took part in the parade led by Reserve Inspector Hembram and his troupe. Prakruti Bandhu prize was conferred on two
persons.
