Mild tremors were felt at several places across the State even as an earthquake of 6.8- Richter scale magnitude hit Myanmar, the epicenter, on Wednesday.
In Odisha, tremors were felt in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Baripada, Rourkela, Baleswar, Anandpur, Puri and a few other places. Buildings were evacuated in these affected places. However, there was reportedly no loss of life and properties.
The tremor struck for some seconds at 7.25 pm.
IMD, Bhubaneswar Director Sarat Chandra Sahu said there is no possibility of after-shock in the State.
