Migrant slices his neck, dies in K'apada

A 22-year-old migrant labourer on Thursday committed suicide by slicing his throat with a blade after an altercation between him and his wife over consumption of liquor.

Derabish police station IIC Niranjan Sabar said Debaraj Rohisingh, his wife Pramila of loisingha in Balangir district had come with fellow workers to work in a brick kiln of Hrushikesh Behera at Raghudeipur in the Derabish area of Kendrapada district.

On Thursday, as Pramila was unhappy with consumption of liquor by Debaraj, the latter slapped her and ran away from the spot. later, he cut his throat, possibly after losing mental balance or in a fit of rage. He was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
