As many as 11 towns of the State recorded temperature above 40 degree Celsius with Angul recording the highest at 42.1 degree Celsius on Friday.
Besides Angul, Talcher recorded 42 degree Celsius followed by 41 degree in Titlagarh and Jharsuguda, 40.6 degree Celsius in Baleswar, Hirakud, Dhenkanal and Baripada, 40.5 degree in Chandbali and Sambalpur, 40 degree in Malkangiri.
Meanwhile, the weatherman here predicted rain and thundershowers at one or two places over coastal Odisha.
